NEP Guidelines And Government Circular

National Education Policy 2020

Technical education will cover degree and diploma programmes in fields like engineering, technology, management, architecture, pharmacy, and hospitality—key to India’s growth. With rising demand for skilled professionals, stronger industry–education collaboration and multidisciplinary programmes will be promoted. Focus will also be on emerging areas like AI, 3-D machining, big data, machine learning, biotechnology, nanotechnology, and neuroscience to improve youth employability.
Technology in education will be adopted across learning, assessment, and administration after proper evaluation. An autonomous body, the National Educational Technology Forum (NETF), will guide institutions and governments by sharing research, best practices, and insights for effective use of educational technology.

Curricular Integration of Essential Subjects, Skills, and Capacities

Students will have subject flexibility, but all must learn essential skills like language proficiency, scientific thinking, creativity, communication, health, teamwork, problem solving, vocational skills, digital literacy, ethics, citizenship, and environmental awareness. Modern subjects such as Artificial Intelligence, Design Thinking, Holistic Health, Organic Living, and Global Citizenship will be introduced to build these abilities at all levels.
Mathematics and computational thinking will be emphasised throughout school, as they are key to fields like AI, machine learning, and data science. Learning will use engaging methods like puzzles and games, with coding introduced from the Middle Stage.
